Kent prides itself on its diversity.
In addition to the 138 languages spoken throughout the Kent
community, our residents come from all races, religions, backgrounds and
cultures. In fact, we consider our city a melting pot, bringing
together people from all over the world into one place they can call

To help us understand, embrace and celebrate our diversity, Kent and a group of dedicated volunteers host the Kent International Festival
each year. Featuring art, cuisine, music, dance and other
entertainment, thousands of people in and around Kent gather to learn
from each other. The free, family-friendly festival was started five
years ago by a handful of volunteers, eager to educate others on the
different cultures and backgrounds in Kent. Originally held at Town
Square Plaza, the festival has grown so big that it was moved to ShoWare Center this year and a larger group of volunteers is now helping to organize the event.
