We love the fall, and fall is so beautiful in Kent! Not only are
there festivals and other fun back-to-school events, but there are fun
seasonal activities too. Here are a few of our favorites for you to plan
for your next visit to Kent:
Carpinito Brothers Corn Maze:
Every year the Carpinito Brothers farm designs a different corn maze.
This year features the Headless Horsemen and his Flaming Pumpkin Head.
Test your navigation skills with 12 checkpoints, 6 in each maze, to
become to enter a weekly prize drawing. The corn maze is open daily from
9 am to 6 pm.
Carpinito Brothers Pumpkin Patch:
Bring your family to the U-Pick Pumpkin Patch to pick out your favorite
squash or pumpkin. With 20+ acres of farmland, there are thousands of
pumpkins to choose from. In addition to the pumpkin patch and corn maze,
Carpinito Brothers has a produce stand with fresh sweet corn, apple
cider and other fall goodies. They also have a concession stand where
you can purchase fresh kettle corner, lemonade and roasted sweet corn Ė
yum! The pumpkin patch is open daily from 9 am to 6:30 pm.
Carpinito Brothers Farm Fun Yard:
New this year is the Farm Fun Yard, featuring farm animals, hay maze,
corn pen, duck races, rodeo ropiní cows, goat walk, hayrides, and more.
Farm Fun Yard hours are daily from 9 am to 6 pm.
Soos Creek Botanical Garden:
Fall foliage is in bloom in Kent! Thereís nowhere better to see the
fabulous fall leaves than through a docent-led garden tour at Soos Creek
Botanical Barden. Visit the gardenís website for hours and to schedule a
AMC Theatres Presents "Dracula":
See a special showing of the 1931 version of "Dracula," two
back-to-back features, the 1931 fan favorite and its Spanish
counterpart. Oct. 25 and 28 at Kent Stationís AMC Theatres.
Arts of Love Craft Fair:
Join the Hillside Sisters for their third annual Arts of Love Craft
Fair at Hillside Church (930 E. James St.) on Oct. 17 from 10 am to 4
pm. Shop for handmade goods, vintage wears, needlework, beadwork,
woodworking, paper crafts, painting and more!
Chancel Arts Featuring "Phantom of the Opera":
On Sun., Oct. 18 from 7 to 9 pm, local organist Nathan Jensen will
accompany a showing of the original "Phantom of the Opera" movie, the
Lon Chaney classic silent film. Concessions will be available.
Halloween Trick-or-Treating & Costume Contest:
Join Kent Station for its annual costume contest and trick-or-treating
at participating stores, safe Halloween fun. The costume contest is from
4 to 6 pm on Sat., Oct. 31; trick-or-treating is from 4 to 6:30 pm,
while supplies last.
Indoor Walking at ShoWare Center: With cooler weather upon us, ShoWare Center
is graciously opening its doors from 9 to 11 am each Monday and
Thursday for indoor fitness walking. The walks begin Thurs., Oct. 8 and
will run through May 30, 2016! Grab your walking shoes and a friend, and
come on down!
