was incorporated on May 28, 1890 with a population of 793. Since those
early days of farming hops and lettuce, Kent is now home to 124,000
residents and has grown into a globally-connected city with a
concentration in aerospace, high-tech manufacturing and warehousing. The
City plans to celebrate its birthday at various local events through
