Kent Parks Celebrates Earth Day with Battle of the Corporate Stars

To celebrate the first Earth Day in 1970, Kent WA Parks is flashing back to the 1970s with Battle of the Corporate Stars.

To celebrate the first Earth Day in 1970, Kent Parks is flashing back to the 1970s with Battle of the Corporate Stars! On Wednesday, April 22, 20 teams of five employees each will meet at Park Orchard Park to do an Earth Day project including removing invasive blackberries.

Teams are encouraged to dress in their finest Ď70s costumes and come up with a relevant name for their team, like the Brady Bunch or Eight is Enough. Teams will be coached by local officials and be rewarded with lunch, compliments of Ivarís, and an awards ceremony.

If you canít participate in Battle of the Corporate Stars, student groups and others are encouraged to sign up for an Earth Day project at Morrill Meadows Park on April 18. Click here to sign up online, or call Victoria Andrews at 253-856-5113 for more information!
